Burglary case solved, stolen items worth Rs 2 lakh recovered

JAMMU, Oct 11: Police in Jammu’s RS Pura area claimed today, they have worked out a burglary case by recovering stolen items worth more than Rs 2 lakh from the thieves.
A police official said on September 25, 2024, one Rakesh Kumar of Kotli Gala Bana filed a written complaint with Police Station RS Pura, stating therein that while he and his ailing mother were in Delhi for her (mother’s) treatment, burglars broke into their house and decamped with household items, including an inverter, battery, cylinder, and other valuable items.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 207/2024 under sections 331(4)/305 BNS was registered at Police Station RS Pura and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, he said, a team led by SHO RS Pura and under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu identified and arrested three individuals for questioning.
They were identified as Mithun alias Kalu, Sushil Kumar alias Golu, and Deepak Kumar alias Deepu of RS Pura, said the police official.
He said during sustained questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, the stolen items worth around Rs 2.2 lakh were recovered from their possession.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he added.
