JAMMU, June 7: Police today worked out a burglary and arrested the accused along with stolen ornaments and cash.
Police spokesman said that on May 27, 2012, one Ashiq Hussain, son of Abdul Rashid of Umar Colony, Malik Market lodged a written report with Police Post Bathindi that burglary had taken place in his house on the intervening night of May 26 and 27 when nobody was present in the house and the burglars decamped with gold ornaments and cash.
Acting on the complaint, a police party headed by SHO Trikuta Nagar Police Station, Inspector Sunil Jasrotia and Incharge Police Post Bathindi SI Mohd Iqbal under the direct supervision of SP South Rajeshwar Singh and SDPO East, S S Sambyal started investigation into the case.
During the course of investigation, one Gourav Choudhary alias Gabbu alias Golu, son of Puran Chand of Himachal Pradesh and presently putting up in Umar Colony was rounded up. During questioning, he confessed his crime.
On his disclosure, stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 45,000 and cash of Rs 1091 were recovered. “A hunt is on to nab his associates, who are absconding”, the spokesman said.
