JAMMU, Dec 18: Observing COVID protocols, Border Security Force (BSF), Frontier HQ Jammu today celebrated BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) Day at BSF campus Paloura.
A handout stated that BWWA is a society registered with Registrar of Societies Delhi and was established in 1992 with objectives to secure the welfare of all serving and retired members of BSF and their families, reaching out to the widows and helping them in their rehabilitation and to provide vocational training to these families for economic empowerment.
The celebrations started with the lightening of ceremonial lamp by Rajni Jamwal, BWWA President Jammu.
The programme was witnessed by the families of all local BSF Battalions, Sectors and Ftr HQ BSF Jammu.
On this occasion BWWA President distributed utility items to the Widows of BSF personnel and she also hailed the contribution of BWWA in upliftment of families of BSF personnel.
She appealed BWWA to undertake multidimensional activities to address the problems of families of BSF personnel by organizing vocational training, computer awareness, literacy and health programmes.
