BYS celebrates Mahila Yog Shakti Diwas

JAMMU, Dec 25:Like other parts of the country , Mahila Yog Shakti Diwas was celebrated by Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, (BYS) Jammu in the sprawling lawns of the Ashram at Gole Gujral near here, today. The programme was quite impressive and attended by over 500 women Yog Sadhaks.
The Programme started with lighting of the traditional lamp which was followed by Saraswati Vandana.
Dr Archana Choudary, wife of A K Choudary Special DGP Crime Branch J&K was the chief guest of the function. Speaking on the occasion she said that PM’s vision for Fit@India can be harnessed through Yoga. She appreciated that events like Mahila Yog Shakti Diwas are quite empowering for the women in the society. Yoga has a potential to have a disease-free society, she said.
Satya Pal, president of the Sansthan delivered the welcome and introductory address. He said that in J&K, Bharatiya Yog Sansthan is running 125 Yoga Sadhana Kendras in and around Jammu, Samba and Udhampur. Yoga at these centres is taught daily by expert volunteers (Shikshaks) of the Sansthan free of cost. These classes are attended by a large number of people, both men and women, of all age groups on regular basis.
The highlights of the function were Samohik Sadhana and cultural items presented by the women Sadhaks
Mohani Sharma Prantiya Sadas conducted the proceedings.
