BZA for creation of Billawar district

BILLAWAR, Dec 17: Billawar Zila Andolan (BZA) today took out a rally demanding creation of Billawar district.
Led by its convener Advocate Hari Chand Jalmeria, the activists of BZA took out a rally, which started from PWD Rest House and concluded at Tehsil Ground.
While speaking, Jalmeria said that Billawar was ignored in 1978 when three districts were added in Kashmir valley and in 2006, when 8 more district were added in the State.
“Billawar, Bani and Basohli having population of over three and half lakh and area of about 2000 sq kilometers has been ignored and discriminated”, he added.
He asked the Government to declare Billawar a district by March and also demanded to construct tunnel from near Bhini bridge and connect Billawar valley with Delhi-Jammu highway.
Among others present were Durga Dass Upadhiaya, Bishan Dass Sharma, Ram Dhan, BR Upadhiaya, ML Verma, Jatinder Singh, Beli Ram, etc.
