C M Bhat, R S Pathania selected for Pt Prem Nath Bhat Journalist Award 2024

JAMMU, Oct 6: Chander Mohan Bhat an author and free lance journalist and BJP spokesperson and columnist R S Pathania have been named as recipients of this year’s prestigious Pt Prem Nath Bhat Amateur Journalist Award.
Their selection for this year’s award was made in the meeting of the Award Committee of Trust here, today which was chaired by Prof P N Trisal a well known scholar. The other members of the jury who attended the meeting included Chairman of the Trust C L Pandita, Prof R L Shant, Kashmiri Lal Bhat, Pardeep Koul Khudbali, Opinder Ambardar, Dr M K Bharat, Roop Krishan Shah, Virender Raina, Aadarsh Ajit and Shadi Lal Koul Rais.
The Committee had received various names for this year’s award and the jury after proper scrutiny selected the names of Bhat and Pathania.
The awards will be given on October 5 at a function at Jammu. The Award was instituted in 1991 on the name of Amar Shaheed Pt Prem Nath Bhat a journalist and author, a socio political leader and a well known advocate who was assassinated by terrorists on December 27 in 1989 at his native town Anantnag in Kashmir Valley after he voiced concern over the Jehadi movement in Kashmir and termed them enemies of Kashmiris and humanity as a whole.
After his assassination Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust led by Yash Bhasin its founder Trustee instituted the annual award on his name which is given to two amateur journalists one from Jammu and another from Kashmir every year.
