Following Cabinet nod to the names of Chairman and Members of the PSC in today’s meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the Panel would be sent to the Governor for approval.
Apart from Deva, five names recommended as the PSC Members included Suresh Sharma, Special Judge, Anti-Corruption (CBI cases), Dr BD Vyas, JP Singh, Posh Charak and Tashi Rigzin. Three other members are from the Kashmir valley.
From the previous Panel, only Deva has been re-nominated for the post of Chairman while names of all other members have been dropped.
The dropped members included Rishi Dogra, former Registrar of Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University, Mushtaq Wani, former College Principal, Indu Kilam, a scholar and academician, retired IAS official GR Bhagat and senior KAS official Munshi Muzaffar Hussain.
The Governor had returned the Panel raising objections over some names as they hadn’t been duly recommended with documents.

The NC-Congress Panel had been recommended to the Governor for approval on the eve of Assembly elections.
The PSC is lying completely defunct at present.
