Cabinet meet today, transfers likely

JAMMU, Apr 18: State Cabinet, which is meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed tomorrow morning, is likely to order transfers and postings in the police and civil administration besides clearing the routine administrative agenda.
This would be last Cabinet meeting in Jammu ahead of Darbar Move of Civil Secretariat from Jammu to Srinagar on April 24.
Authoritative sources told EXCELSIOR that Cabinet is likely to order transfers and postings in the civil and police administration. “The transfers in Police Department were scheduled to be ordered during the last Cabinet meeting but agenda in this regard was deferred”, they said.
“Cabinet is also likely to order adjustment of IPS officer Lalat Indu  Mohanty, who has returned to State after more than six years long deputation at Centre”, sources informed. Mr Mohanty joined Police Headquarters this week on his return from Central deputation.
According to the sources, Cabinet will order promotion of 2002 batch IAS officers to the next grade. It will also order promotion of officers of Excise and Taxation Department. Moreover, transfer of State land for construction of Polytechnic in Udhampur district, enhancement of ration money allowance for Non-Gazetted staff of the Prisons Department and regularization of migrant substitutes are also on agenda, sources added.
