JAMMU, July 23: State Cabinet is meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar tomorrow at 11 am.
As already reported exclusively by EXCELSIOR, the Cabinet will discuss report on creation of new administrative units along with financial implications involved in giving practical shape to the same and the proposal of the Health and Medical Education Department regarding promulgation of Ordinance to regulate the functioning of para-medical institutes in the State.
The committee, constituted to assess the demands of the people regarding new administrative units, has recommended creation of 23 Sub-Divisions, 57 tehsils, 79 Niabats, 733 Patwar Halqas and 63 CD blocks.
The Revenue Department has worked out the requirement of Rs 112.92 crore recurring revenue per annum and Rs 609.08 crore non-recurring revenue. In addition to this, an amount of Rs 50 crore is required as capital component for acquisition of land for establishment of these administrative units and approximately 4620 posts are required to be created under various categories for these units.
The proposal regarding promulgation of ordinance to regulate the functioning of para-medical institutes has been mooted on the ground that at present there is no law in the State to regulate these institutes.
It is pertinent to mention here that J&K has 17 para-medical institutes in the Government sector and more than 70 in private sector.
The Cabinet will also take decision on the proposal of the Power Development Department regarding placement of six senior most Incharge Superintending Engineers as incharge Chief Engineers. These SEs are Girja Koul, Manmohan Singh, Ravi Kumar Chanyal, Khurshid Ahmed Budoo, B A Khan and Subash Chander.
Cabinet will also discuss regularization of incharge Directors/Managing Directors in the department of Animal and Sheep Husbandry. Those being regularized are Dr J P Sharma, Dr R L Kher, Dr M L Sharma, Dr Bashir Ahmed War, Dr G S Sudan, Dr B R Kotwal and Dr A K Koul.
