Cabinet orders regularization of PDD daily wagers

SRINAGAR, Aug 30: State Cabinet, which met at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar this morning, approved regularization of daily wagers working in the Power Development Department and creation of 1083 posts of Village Level Workers in Rural Development Department.
The daily wagers (PDL/TDL) of the PDD would be regularized against the vacant posts of the Class-IV in relaxation of embargo placed on the engagement of daily rated workers vide SRO-64 of 1994.
“This dispensation will only apply to Power Development Department as it is a part of the Recruitment Rules issued vide SRO-381 dated August 26, 1981—prior to issuance of SRO 64”, official spokesman said, adding “the process will be a continuous one and the DPCs will be empowered to consider all cases on a regular basis as and when vacancies are available for the incumbents, who were in position on or before March 31, 2010.
The Cabinet also approved creation of 1083 posts of Village Level Workers (VLWs) in Rural Development Department and establishment of 71 Mobile Veterinary Centres and creation of 214 posts in Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments. Out of these, 26 Mobile Veterinary Centers are in Animal Husbandry Jammu and 26 in Animal Husbandry Kashmir. Likewise, 9 centers are for Sheep Husbandry Jammu and 10 for Sheep Husbandry Kashmir.
