JAMMU, Mar 20: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL), organised the Nukkad Natak festival under which a series of street plays (Nukkad Natak) were performed by various theatre groups.
Today a socio-cultural society Chinar Art Foundation (CAF), Jammu presented the Nukkad Natak at different locations in the city. It presented a Nukkad Natak titled-‘Nashey Da Chaska’ in Dogri language at – a parking area opposite the office of Information Department, Bahu Plaza (North Block), a community park opposite Reserve Bank of India (Rail Head Complex) and Hari Singh Park. The Nukkad Natak was an awareness campaign against the drugs menace which is the need of hour. The audience present at the venues expressed their happiness that such a novel awareness campaign was launched by J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages through Chinar Art Foundation (CAF),. Besides, the audience also appreciated the artists for their wonderful way of expression along with the writer and director(s) for the Nukkad Natak. The Artists who performed the Nukkad Natak titled-‘Nashey Di Lutt’ were- Basant Viyogi, Vidya Bhushan, Ritu Mehra, Neelam Malvi, Vijay Jeetu, Vijay Kumar, Sweety Jyotishi and Priyanka Sharma.
The play was written by Basant Viyogi and Director (s) for the Nukkad Natak were Sachin Dhar and Basant Viyogi. The Director(s) for the Nukkad Natak informed the audience that various groups have been assigned by JKAACL, Jammu for awareness against different social evils which need to be addressed and eradicated from our civil society. The team of ‘Nashey Di Lutt’ said that more performances will be presented on March 21, at other venues with the support of J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Jammu.
