KOZHIKODE, July 30:
Calicut City Service Co-Operative Bank (CCSCOB) will launch Group Deposit and Credit Scheme (GDCS) equivalent to ‘Chit Fund,’ perhaps first time in the co-operative sector on August 1.
Talking to reporters here, CCSCOB President C N Vijaya Krishnan said a separate branch will be opened for the scheme in Rs 50 lakh, 25 lakh, Rs ten lakh and five lakh categories at Kallai Road in the City.
The duration of the scheme would be for 50 months, he said.
The bank had launched an innovative scheme ‘City Charity Deposit’ to fund free dialysis treatment to patients hailing from poor strata of society, he said.
Clientele can join the scheme with an interest free minimum Rs 1,000 deposit, which could be withdrawn any time, he said.
The bank, had offered free treatment in two dialysis units, out of the six such units launched recently, he said adding the remaining four clinics offered treatment at only Rs 800. (UNI)
