LEH, Aug 27: Various political, social and religious organisations of Leh and Kargil have decided to observe full day Ladakh bandh tomorrow as a mark of protest against the Ministry of Home Affair (MHA) for delaying dialogue process between the joint delegation, proposed by the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA).

It was decided in a meeting of the Apex body, organised under the chairmanship of Thupstan Chhewang which was attended by President Ladakh Gonpa Association, the District President of the political parties, representatives of the religious organizations (Ladakh Buddhist Association, Anjuman Imamia, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Christian Community Leh), Chairman Panchayat Coordination Committee Leh and representative of the Women and student bodies.
“Various civil societies will also not participate in the meeting with MoS Home, Nityanand Rai in Leh tomorrow,” they said in a press statement, issued here.
Meanwhile, Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) leader Sajjad Kargili also supported the Lakdah bandh call and appealed to all Transport/Merchant/ Employees Associations to make the call successful. “The proposed meeting of MoS Home Affairs is an attempt to divide Ladakhis,” he asserted.
Besides, various civil society members including Merchant Association Leh, Taxi Union Leh, All Ladakh Tourist Trade Alliance, All Ladakh Hotel and Guest House Association and others showed their support to the protest, they claimed.
