PENH, July 16: Cambodia on Thursday confirmed one more case of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 166, said a Health Ministry’s statement.The latest case was a 25-year-old Cambodian man, who arrived in Cambodia on July 10 from Saudi Arabia, with a connecting flight in Malaysia, the statement said, adding that he was on the same flight with another 24 positive cases found on Sunday and Tuesday.
“The man’s samples were tested for the third time by the Pasteur Institute of Cambodia, and the results released Wednesday night showed that he was positive for COVID-19,” the statement said.
He has been admitted to the Chak Angre Health Center in southern Phnom Penh for treatment, it said, adding that the remaining 69 passengers on the same flight are still undergoing a 14-day mandatory quarantine at a quarantine center in Phnom Penh.
The Southeast Asian country has recorded a total of 166 confirmed COVID-19 cases to date, with 133 patients cured and 33 remained hospitalized. (AGENCIES)
