JAMMU, Dec 14: The three days camp for budding painters organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) which started on December 12 concluded here today with a valedictory ceremony at K.L Saigal Hall.
Rachhpal Singh, Additional Commissioner, FC (J&K) was chief guest on the occasion while Sunaina Sharma, Joint Director J&K Tourism was the guest of honour. Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary JKAACL, Jang S. Verman, senior painter and Popinder Singh Paras, Editor, Sheeraza Punjabi & Exhibition Officer, JKAACL were present on the presidium.
An exhibition of the art works created by the artists during the camp was also organized on this occasion.
In welcome address, Secretary JKAACL informed that the Academy has been organizing literary, cultural and art events in different parts of J&K to provide a platform to young and senior artists.
Sunaina Sharma said that J&K Tourism Department intends to organize art and cultural activities with JKAACL so that the culture and heritage is reflected at wider canvas.
Earlier, Rachhpal Singh along with other guests had a round of the exhibition and interacted with budding painters.
The chief guest, Rachhpal Singh wished bright future to the budding artists who participated in the camp.
The young budding artists who participated in the camp were Ankush Kesar, Lovesh Sharma, Shakti Kumari, Renu Bala, Mahua Gupta, Simran Dogra, Suneel Dutt, Sushil Bharti and Rohit Sharma.
The artists created in their choicest styles, one art work each, during the three day painters camp.
Irshad Tantray, Assistant Exhibition Officer was In-charge of the camp.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Popinder Singh Paras, Exhibition Officer JKAACL and vote of thanks was extended by Irshad Tantray.
