JAMMU, Nov 1: The campus placement drive was held at Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) in Jammu as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, which focuses on fostering an academia-industry interface for the students of YCET.
YCET organized the campus placement drive with the participation of well-known companies, including Zomato (through the process of Shining Star) and Vaishno Associates Vidyut Projects Llp (for NTPC) for the students of YCET.
For the event, a total of fifty students were shortlisted. Eleven students were chosen after a rigorous selection process that involved aptitude tests, group talks, in-person interviews and telephone interviews. Through the placement drive, eight students- Aditi Singh Charak, Arihanta, Rudher Pratap Singh, Divyansh Sharma, Akash Pandita, Amandeep, Uzma Jalal and Sana Qadri -were chosen for the Zomato and three students – Sudhanshu Najawan, Imtiaz Ahmed Khan and Mujtaba Rayaz were hired by Vaishno Associates Vidyut Projects Llp for NTPC.
Many officials from the participating companies and Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology were actively involved in overseeing and facilitating the placement process.
Career counseling programs, which are also a part of the college’s social responsibility initiatives and place special emphasis on empowering these students by equipping them with industry-ready skills, enabled the students to secure good placements during the drives.
All the selected students will get the package in the range of Rs 2.0 lacs to 3.0 lacs (approx) per annum depending upon their performance after training.
Ujwal Chopra, Project Director of Vaishno Associates Vidyut Projects Llp, Senior Manager of the Shining Stars company, Puneet Kumar Sarangal, senior recruiter North Zone Nitish Sharma hailed the efforts put in by the college in nurturing and exploring the young minds for a better tomorrow.
Chairman Er Vidhi S Singh Jamwal, Vice-Chairman Thakur Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal, Managing Director Er Renu Bangroo, Director, YCET Dr Mukesh Kumar Rana, Dean Academics, YCET Er Dinesh Gupta and Chief Coordinator, YCET B.R Verma encouraged the YCET team for the successful completion of the process.
All HoDs, department placement coordinators and Assistant TPO Er Manjula Sharma coordinated the placement drive whereas the drive was conducted by Er Dinesh Gupta, Head, Training and Placement Cell of YCET.
