Cancer screening camp for sanitation workers held

JAMMU, May 26: Preventive Oncology Unit, State Cancer Institute (SCI) Jammu under Department of Community Medicine conducted a cancer awareness and screening camp at CNI Church, Residency road, here on Saturday.
During the camp, 100 sanitation workers of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) were screened. A team of doctors led by Dr Bhavna Langer (Nodal Officer, Preventive Oncology), Associate Professor Dr Kamna Singh, Lecturer, Dr Jyoti, Dr Tasvinder Senior Residents, Dr Tasleem, Dr Sakshi, Dr Sumaira, Dr Raheel, Dr Khalid, Dr Hafsa, Dr Reenu, Dr Rakesh (MO AYUSH) and interns conducted screening for ca oral cavity, clinical breast examination, screening for obesity, hypertension and diabetes mellitus.
These camps will be conducted every Saturday in different wards of JMC Jammu under the guidance and supervision of Rahul Yadav (Municipal Commissioner, JMC), Dr Ashutosh Gupta (Principal & Dean, GMC Jammu), Dr Rajiv K Gupta (HoD, Department of Community Medicine) and Dr Vinod Sharma (Health Officer, JMC Jammu).
Dr Deepak Kumar (Deputy Medical Superintendent, SCI Jammu) provided logistics support for the camp.
