JAMMU, Mar 25: Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Jammu, G S Chib has clarified that department has lifted nearly 60 % of the ration and BPL supply for many districts has been lifted in full and is now being distributed among the rationees.
While clarifying a report published in this paper on Monday, the senior CAPD officer said as on March 22, over 60 % ration stand lifted by the department. He however, remained silent on the distribution status and maintained that it was being supplied to the consumers.
The director while admitting delay in release of funds for the procurement of food grains maintained that there was no shortage of sugar as projected in the report, as against the allotted quota of 31,010 quintals for the region, 17144 qtls (55%) stand lifted and distributed among the rationees.
