KISHTWAR, Oct 20: Three persons were today killed after the car they were travelling-in fell into river Chenab here.
The deceased included two teachers and a cop and the accident took place in Kandini area of mountainous Kishtwar district.

As per reports the trio was returning from Kishtwar after attending a marriage function.
The ill fated car was bearing registration number JK06B 1909 and the mishap took place in Kandini area as the vehicle went out of control.
The mishap left three persons onboard critically injured and they were evacuated to District Hospital Kishtwar but they succumbed to their injuries.
After autopsy and other legal formalities bodies of the deceased were handed over to their relatives for last rites.
The deceased persons were identified as Madan Lal, 50, son of Roop Lal, resident of Saroor; Rakesh Kumar, 40, son of Shib Ram, resident of Thathri and Dhian Singh, 40, son of Bodh Raj, resident of Gandoh.
DC Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav who was personally monitoring the rescue and relief operation said that cause behind the accident was being investigated but as per preliminary reports it emerged that after breaking crash barrier the car landed near the bank of Chenab. He said that every possible help is being provided to the affected families.
Meanwhile, Union MoS, Dr. Jitendra Singh posted on X, “spoke to DC #Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav, soon after receiving the report about the unfortunate car accident in Kandini region in which 3 persons died as the car rolled down into river Chenab.”
“My sincere condolences to the bereaved families of all,” he posted.
The Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has also condoled the loss of lives in the road accident in Kishtwar today.
He has extended his heartfelt condolences and directed the district administration to provide all the necessary assistance to the bereaved families.
