KISHTWAR, Oct 31: A road accident here today on the mountainous Dool-Cherji road left one person dead and seven others injured with two critical, as the car they were onboard fell into a gorge.
As per the sources, the ill fated car of Eeco make bearing registration number JK17-7104 met the tragic accident while it was on its way to Cherji.
The deceased was identified as Kapoor Singh, 48, son of Shanti Lal, resident of Cherji Dool.
The injured were Phool Singh, 27, son of Kapoor Singh, resident of Cherji Dool; Naresh Kumar, 27, son of Hans Raj, resident of Cherji Dool; Reta Devi, 50, wife of Kapoor Singh, resident of Cherji Dool; Narinder Kumar, 42, son of Brij Lal, resident of Cherji Dool; Rattan Lal, son of Budhi Singh; Bittu Kumar, son of Budhi Singh, resident of Cherji Dool and driver of the car Sunil Kumar, son of Des Raj, resident of Cherji Dool.
Two of the injured-Rattan Lal and Bittu Singh, being critical, were shifted to Government Medical College Jammu for specialised treatment while three more with minor injuries were getting treatment at DH Kishtwar. They were Naresh Kumar, Phool Singh and Rita Devi while Narinder Kumar and the driver Sunil were safe with little injuries.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
