DODA, Sept 13: Two persons were drowned, when the car they were traveling in rolled down into Chenab river here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02AT-0687 carrying two persons was on its way to Doda from Thathri, when the driver lost control over the steering and it plunged into the river Chenab.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation to trace the occupants of the car.
The bodies of the occupants were not fished out and their identity was yet to be ascertained, when reports last were compiled.
A case has been registered at Doda Police Station and investigation started.
