JAMMU, June 3: Taking serious note of illegal tapping and misuse of drinking water, especially by commercial organizations, PHE Department imposed heavy fine on three private establishments in Bathindi area, which were indulging in car/vehicle washing activities by tapping PHE water pipes illegally.
The establishments were raided in the recent past by enforcement teams, specially constituted for the purpose and a fine of Rs 15000 was realized on the spot from the defaulters as per relevant clauses of J&K Water Resources (Regulation & Management) Act, 2010.
The illegal connections were disconnected and a stern warning was issued to the defaulters not to resort to such illegal means.
