NEW DELHI, Aug 21: Cardamom prices were down by 0.33 per cent to Rs 952.50 per kg in futures trading today after speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid slackened demand in the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks in the physical market following increased arrivals from producing belts put pressure on cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month October declined by Rs 3.20, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 952.50 per kg in a business turnover of five lots.
In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in September shed Rs 2.80, or 0.29 per cent, to Rs 966.40 per kg in 134 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in cardamom futures to profit-booking by speculators at existing levels and fall in demand in the spot market. (PTI)
