Cardamom futures extend losses on easing demand

NEW DELHI, Sept 8:  Falling for the second straight day, cardamom prices shed 0.54 per cent to Rs 814.50 per kg in futures trading today as speculators engaged in reducing positions on the back of fall in demand in the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing region fuelled the downtrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month October eased by Rs 4.40, or 0.54 per cent to Rs 814.50 per kg in business turnover of 133 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in September contracts eased by Rs 2.10, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 801.10 per kg in 1 lot.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
