Cardamom futures fall 1.04% on weak spot cues

NEW DELHI, June 21: Cardamom prices fell by 1.04 per cent to Rs 996 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut bets, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand.

Further, a dip in domestic demand also weighed on the prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July contract was trading lower by Rs 10.50, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 996 per kg in a business turnover of 43 lots.

The contract for August delivery was trading at Rs 954.90 down 0.67 per cent, or Rs 6.40, with trading volume of just one lot.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts weighed on cardamom futures. (PTI)
