NEW DELHI, Jan 30: Cardamom prices rose 1.54 per cent to Rs 768.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions driven by strong demand in spot markets amid restricted arrivals.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February gained Rs 11.70, or 1.54 per cent, to Rs 768.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 468 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in March edged up by Rs 10, or 1.27 per cent, to Rs 796.80 per kg in 328 lots.
Traders said that besides restricted supplies from producing belts, strong domestic and export demand also supported the upside in cardamom prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
