Cardamom futures up 0.85 pc on spot demand

NEW DELHI, May 7: Cardamom prices ticked higher by 0.85 per cent to Rs 923 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid uptick in demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in the current month contract edged higher by Rs 7.80, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 923 per kg in a business turnover of 11 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in June contract traded higher by Rs 2.60, or 0.28 per cent, at Rs 920 per kg with a trading volume of 13 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand at the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions pushed up cardamom futures. (PTI)
