Cardamom futures weaken on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Dec 7: Cardamom fell by Rs 9.80 to Rs 964.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels amid weak demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December declined by Rs 9.80, or one per cent, to Rs 964.40 per kg, with trading volume of 597 lots.

Similarly, the spice for the January contract delivery shed Rs 9.50, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 1,034 per kg in 519 lots.

Traders said besides profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels, subdued demand in the spot market led to the decline in cardamom prices in futures trade. (PTI)
