Cardamom moves up in futures trade on good demand

NEW DELHI, May 21:  Cardamom prices rose 1.25 per cent to Rs 753.30 per kg in futures trade today on firm trends at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June month moved up by Rs 9.30, or 1.25 per cent to Rs 753.30 per kg in business turnover of 409 lots.

The spice for delivery in July traded higher by Rs 6.70, or 0.87 per cent to Rs 775.50 per kg in 69 lots.

A firm demand from both domestic and overseas buyers is pushing up the prices of the spice at spot markets, analysts said.

Besides, restricted arrivals from producing belts supported the upside, they said. (PTI)
