JAMMU, May 23: A carpenter allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree in village Triva, falling under the jurisdiction of Arnia police station.
As per police sources, 23-year-old carpenter namely Shamsher Lal, son of Tarsem Lal of village Triva allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree at his native village.
Passerby noticed him hanging and informed the police.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bishnah where after conducting autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Arnia police station and investigations taken up to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
