JAMMU, Oct 20: A carpenter was killed on the spot after he was hit by a train this evening near Channi Fatak in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a man identified as Ajay Kumar (35) son of Thoru Ram, a resident of Parwah in Marh area of city outskirts, who was carpenter by profession was hit and killed on the spot by Tata Moori Train near Channi Fatak when he was on his way back to home from day’s work.
The spokesperson said that the body of the deceased has been shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where postmortem on the body will be conducted tomorrow.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station GRP Jammu.
