Case of food poisoning in marriage function: 70 more admitted in hospital

UDHAMPUR, Aug 3: A day after death of two children and 20 others falling ill due to food poisoning in a marriage function at village Satyalta in Ghordi, 70 more sick persons were today admitted in District Hospital Udhampur.
However, condition of all of them was stated to be stable and according to the doctors, they were responding to the treatment. They also had taken meal in the same marriage function on Thursday.
As already reported in today’s edition of the Excelsior, two children died and more than 20 others fell ill, some of them seriously, due to food poisoning in a marriage function at village Satyalta in Ghordi, Ramnagar. Two of the ailing persons were referred to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu because of their serious condition while 21 others were admitted at District Hospital Udhampur.
According to the reports from DH Udhampur, 70 more persons with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea were admitted to the hospital today. With this, the total number of sick persons because of food poisoning and undergoing treatment at hospital has risen to 90.
