JAMMU, Mar 22: Khour Police has recovered stolen vehicles and cash from a gang of burglars arrested recently.
Under ‘Operation Meghdoot’, a team led by SHO police station Khour, SI Mohd Iqbal chagatta and Incharge, police post Pallanwala, SI Vishal Dogra and Incharge police post Pargwal, PSI Rajinder Khajuria among others busted a notorious gang of burglars on March 17.
The burglars were identified as Pawan Kumar alias Puma son of Madan Lal, a resident of Nawabad (Sunjwan), Mohd Shafi alias Ganja son of Nizam Din, a resident of Cheta Thatri, at present Patanu, Rehambal (Udhampur), Abdul Rehman alias Raju son of Sneetu of Baloot (Ramban), at present, Patanu, Rehambal (Udhampur), Subash Chander alias Puran son of Tarseem Lal, a resident of Tophsherkhania (Jammu), Raj Kumar alias Radhay son of late Kaku Ram, a resident of Budhwal(Khour).
The accused were arrested on March 17 under suspicion in case FIR No 23/2016 under Section 457/380 RPC and they turned out to be notorious burglars.
During sustained interrogation, the burglars’ confession led to recovery of stolen cash amounting to Rs 56800. A maruti car bearing registration No JK14-4214 and a pulsar bike with number JK02BM-9809 purchased out of the stolen property and used as conveyance have also been seized in the instant case.
The accused also confessed their involvement in two theft cases at Akhnoor and one theft case at Baribrahmna, which is being verified by Khour police. More revelations and recoveries may follow.
