Casual labourers of PDD call of strike

SRINAGAR, Jan 19: The casual labourers of Power Development Department (PDD) today called off their strike after Minister of State (MoS) for Power, Viqar Rasool Wani arrived them that their demands would be looked into.
In a statement, a spokesman of Casual Labourers Union (CLU) of PDD said that due to extreme weather conditions the union has called off strike. The spokesman said that a delegation of the union called on MoS Power and raised their demands and the the minister assured them that the issue will be discussed with the concerned stake holders within a week.
“The strike has been called off up to January 28 and as such all the casual labourers would report to work. In case the demands are not met by January 28, then we would go on strike and on the first day of strike a rally would be carried out at EM&RE Wing Kashmir,” said the spokesman.
