Srinagar, Feb 10: Casual labourers of the Wildlife Department’s range Shalbugh Ganderbal today protested stating that despite being seniors, the department has forwarded the names of juniors for regularization.
Several such employees assembled in the Press Enclave and raised slogans against the administration alleging highhandedness while urging them to consider them for the regularization.
“Yesterday, a meeting was called by the concerned Warden in which the concerned Range Officer and other concerned officials were present and during the meeting, a list of 6 casual labourers who are junior to us were selected,” said Mushtaq Ahmad Sayed, casual labour who was a part of the protest.
He said that there are 19 casual workers in total out of which 6 were selected and those all are juniors. “We have been working in the department for last more than 10 years, but these workers were selected out of turn,” he said.
The protestors said they have been ignored by the concerned official for unknown reasons and that they want the higher-ups to intervene in the matter. “We appeal the concerned higher-ups to take note of it and ensure justice to us,” they said.
