Srinagar, June 24: Seeking their regularization, Jammu and Kashmir Casual Daily Wagers’ Forum along with their children today staged a sit-in protest outside Civil Secretariat here.
The casual labours were accompanied by their children who were holding banners outside the Civil Secretariat which read “coalition Government I don’t have fee I am casual labours child, Mehbooba Jee I am casual labours child, please save my future”.
The protesters also raised slogans with an appeal to regularize them. Sajad Ahmad Paray, president of the Forum, said the Government has miserably failed to fulfil promises made with them. “With such kind of deplorable behavior of successive regimes, our children are facing hardships and were forced today to take streets,” he said.
He said that the school authorities of their children are pushing them to complete the fee pending for past several months but there is not even a single penny in their pocket, which results in the hardships to their children in their educational field.
Paray said that Government should look into their hardships at earliest. “We have been always asked to stop agitation and we will come up with a roadmap for you but every time the promises made by the successive regimes proved hoax,” he said.
“We appeal all the leaders and parties to support us in this regard so that our genuine demands are fulfilled soon,” he said, “Our demands should be fulfilled soon otherwise the Government should get ready to face agitation for which they will be held responsible,” he said. The protesters later dispersed peacefully.
