KISHTWAR, Feb 25: The casual and need base workers engaged in PHE (Hyd wing ) in Thathri area of district have demanded release of their wages pending for the last two years.
In a meeting of the Casual/ Need Base PHE Workers & Land Donors Union Kishtwar held at Thathri today, the speakers strongly raised their issues. On this occasion Tariq Hussain Shah was unanimously elected as district president.
They pointed out that many people had offered their agriculture land for the PHE tanks, filtration plants and pumping stations etc to the Department and their one member was also engaged as casual/ need base worker but many such workers are without wages for the last two years.
They were engaged by the SE Hyd Wing Doda on 3-4-2012 vide order No. 30/PW/Hyd of 2012 in lieu of their lands acquired by the Department but it is unfortunate that their wages are not being released. They also demanded that all the workers be regularized without any delay. Bilal Ahmed vice president, Sanjeev Kumar general secretary also spoke on the occasion.
