CAT issues notice to CS, DC for delay of 14 yrs in selection process

JAMMU, Aug 27: In a petition highlighting delay of 14 years in completion of selection process for Class IV level posts, Central Administration Tribunal (CAT) comprising of Chairman Justice Narsimha Reddy and Dr Bhagan Sahai (Member) has issued notice to the Chief Secretary of J&K UT and Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.
The case before the CAT is that 165 Class IV posts were advertised in the 2006 but the result was not declared despite completion of the selection process.
Advocate A K Sawhney appearing for the petitioners submitted before the Tribunal that for 14 years the select list has not been prepared despite court directions passed in writ petition and in a contempt petition.
After hearing counsel for the petitioners, CAT issued notices to Chief Secretary and Chairman District Level IV Class Employee Selection Committee Udhampur. The notices were accepted by AAG Amit Gupta.
