JAMMU, Feb 22: In the matter relating to unreleased wages of the casual workers, Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Jammu Bench comprising of Sanjeev Gupta (Member-J) and B Anand (Member-A) has directed Additional Chief Secretary Shaleen Kabra to appear before the Tribunal tomorrow through virtual mode for his explanation.
When the matter titled Rakesh Sharma Versus Commissioner/ Secretary, Jal Shakti Department and Others came up for hearing, the CAT Bench observed, “Shaleen Kabra, Additional Chief Secretary has filed an application through Additional Advocate General seeking exemption from his personal appearance as directed by Tribunal on February 12, 2024”.
“In the application, the factual narration has been given but no particular reason has been stated for his non-appearance before the Tribunal”, the Bench said, adding “after perusal of the factual reply, we are of the opinion that due to lackadaisical approach of the respondents taking one stand in the first compliance report and other in fresh compliance report, the personal appearance of Shaleen Kabra, Additional Chief Secretary is required in the matter”.
Accordingly, CAT directed Shaleen Kabra to appear before the Tribunal tomorrow through virtual mode at 1 pm for his explanation.
