JAMMU, Nov 25: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Jammu Bench has stopped the salaries of 30 Government officials for not complying with the orders.

The orders in this regard have been passed by the Division Bench comprising Rajinder Dogra (Judicial Member) and Ram Mohan Johri (Administrative Member). The salary of Secretary of General Administration Department has been stopped in six different cases.
In the other four cases, salary of Director, School Education Department has been stopped and in other cases salary of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and Deputy Director Codes, Finance Department has been stopped. The court has also stopped salaries in approximately 35 cases for not filing replies.
“More than 10 opportunities were granted to the respondents to file the replies in the cases which are pending for more than two years. Moreover, while granting last opportunity it was made clear that in case of failure to file replies the erring officers shall remain present in the court”, the CAT said, adding “it is a matter of serious concern that neither replies have been filed nor respondents bothered to appear before the court to explain their conduct”.
The other officers whose salaries have been stopped are Chief Education Officer Reasi, CEO Rajouri, CEO Kathua, CEO Ramban, CEO Samba, CEO Udhampur, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Reasi, CMO Rajouri, Principal, Government Medical College, Superintending Engineer PDD Rajouri, Superintending Engineer (M&RE) Kathua, Executive Engineers of Poonch, Kathua and Jammu, Chief Conservator of Forests Jammu, Divisional Forest Officers of Samba, Udhampur and Bhaderwah, Conservator Forests, East Circle Jammu, Director Finance Ecology, Superintendent, District Jail Jammu, Chief Accounts Officer, GPF Police Cell and Joint Director, Funds Organization Jammu.
