JAMMU, May 3: Two cattle were found dead under mysterious circumstances in canal near Khwas Khan area, falling under the jurisdiction of Satwari Police Station.
As the news spread, the residents assembled near the site and held protest, sources added.
The protesting people alleged that the cattle were killed and later thrown into the canal.
On getting information, police team led by SP South Vinay Sharma rushed to the spot and pacified the protesting people.
Later, a veterinary doctor was called and the postmortem of the cattle were conducted.
However, a case under relevant sections has been registered at Satwari Police Station and investigation has been initiated.
