Cattle smuggler killed, associate injured in accident on NH

RAMBAN, July 27: A cattle smuggler was killed while his associate was injured in accident at Digdol on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per police sources, a Tata Mobile bearing registration JK14D-3673 and carrying bovine animals was on its way to Kashmir from Udhampur, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it fell into gorge at Digdol on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into on the spot death of one person and serious injuries to one another.
After getting information, a team from Ramban Police Station rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with assistance of Army’s ROP, volunteers of Quick Response Team from Ramban and SDRF personnel.
The injured person was rescued and shifted to District Hospital Ramban, where he was undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
The deceased has been identified as Munir Ahmed, son of Mirza Hussain of District Udhampur, while the injured was identified as Kashu, son of Sajjad Hussain of District Udhampur.
Moreover, 4 bovine animals which were being smuggled by the persons mentioned above without DM permission were also killed in the accident.
A case under FIR Number 119/2020 under sections 279, 337, 304-A and 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
