CB charge-sheets 3 in Rs 22 lakh fraud

JAMMU, Oct 18: The Economic Offences Wing of the Crime Branch (CB) Jammu has charge-sheeted three individuals in Rs 22 lakh fraud.
As per a Crime Branch spokesperson, a 940 page charge-sheet has been filed in the court of law against one Ashok Shukla of UP at present Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, Sunil Vyas (now dead) of Rajasthan at present New Delhi, and Pankaj Sharma of Ghagwal, Samba, in case FIR number 25/2019 Under Sections 420, and 120-B of the RPC registered at Police Station Crime Branch Jammu.
According to him, the accused allegedly hatched a criminal conspiracy and cheated the complainant Sanjeev Singh son of Faqir Singh of Village Suchani, District Samba, and other gullible people of Rs 22 lakh by allegedly inducing them to invest in Nexus Realcon (P) Ltd, a Jaipur based company.
The Crime Branch (CB) Jammu spokesperson further said that a case against the trio was registered after the complainants approached CB Jammu and claimed that accused Ashok Shukla along with Sunil Vyas, proprietor Nexus Realcon (P) Ltd of Rajasthan cheated them in the name of investment of their hard earned money/savings.
Quoting the complainants, he said, the accused had arranged several seminars in Jammu, alluring the complainants and other individuals to invest in their firm for multiple returns.
“When some of the investors approached the proprietor on maturity of their investments, they found that the company they had invested in was closed, thus leaving them shell-shocked,” he said.
On receipt of the complaint, the CB spokesperson added that a preliminary verification was initiated and the allegations prima-facie established and subsequently, the instant case was registered for in-depth investigation.
During investigation, oral, documentary, and circumstantial evidence was gathered and it was found that the accused had duped the applicants/investors of their hard-earned money, he said, adding that the offences against the trio were accordingly established and a charge-sheet was presented against them in the court of the law for judicial determination.
