CB gets interim bail of father-son cancelled in fraud case

JAMMU, Jan 15: Crime Branch (CB) Jammu strongly contested bail applications of a father and his son in fraud case and got cancelled the same besides getting their custody.
“The accused Gandharab Singh son of Amir Chand of Thanger Puli, By-Pass Channi Himmat, Jammu and his son Arjun Singh R/o Thanger Puli, By-Pass Channi Himmat, Jammu duped a man namely Krishan Lal son of Amar Nath of Dhakki Bazar, Ward Number 7, Rajouri (A/P Deeli Greater, Jammu) of huge sum of money over a piece of land (Plot), falling in a prime location in Jammu City-viz Greater Kailash,” a spokesperson of Crime Branch said.
He said on proving the offence in preliminary verification by Crime Branch Jammu, an instant case was lodged against both the accused persons under FIR Number 44/2020 U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 120-B IPC but the accused approached the Court and got interim bail.
“As the accused were not cooperating in the investigation of the case, CB-Jammu vigorously contested the bail applications of the accused in six hearings in the Court of law,” the spokesperson said, adding, on the basis of preliminary evidence collected against the accused and put up before the Court, the custody of the accused was sought for custodial interrogation and for effecting recovery from the accused.
He said Court while appreciating facts of the case and arguments of CB-Jammu, cancelled the interim bail of the accused and allowed CB-Jammu to go ahead with arrest of the accused persons for further investigation of the case.
