JAMMU, Jan 29: Crime Branch, Jammu has registered an FIR against persons manning the cyber café and Photostat shops within the periphery of Jammu University and other areas for illegal business of preparing and selling the research thesis to the students after charging hefty amounts from them against prescribed rules/norms of the University.
The FIR has been registered after the Crime Branch received a formal communiqué by JU Vice Chancellor. In the communiqué, the JU gave reference of a news item published in an English Daily regarding sale of thesis for Rs 10,000 against the prescribed rules and sought an investigation into the matter.
For digging out the truth, the Crime Branch registered a case FIR number 5/2015 under Sections 420, 465, 466, 467, 468, 471, 120-B and started further investigation.
