JAMMU, July 26: Special Judge CBI Cases Jammu Bala Joyti has framed charges against ASI Bhuri Singh, who was caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 for releasing the seized truck.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “on 26.11.2021 while Bhuri Singh was posted as ASI of J&K Police, Police Station Kathua he made an illegal demand of bribe/undue advantage of Rs 5000 from the complainant Davinder Singh as a motive and reward for not filing charge- sheet”.
“When trap was laid upon he was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 5000 from the complainant. In this way he has committed an offence under Section 7 of the PC Act 1988”, the court said.
