JAMMU, Sept 30: The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) today arrested a Junior Engineer of Electric Division-II of Jammu Power Development Corpora-tion Limited (JPDCL) while taking Rs 5000 worth corruption red handed from a person.
Identified as Vishal Bali, the Junior Engineer was arrested outside the Industrial Estate as soon as he received the graft for updating details of newly installed electricity meter in the records and for not charging electricity bill at flat rate.
The CBI sleuths who had laid trap for the JE on the basis of complaint arrested him and subjected his office at Nai Basti and residence at Subash Nagar to searches.
The accused will be produced before the Special Judge CBI cases Jammu tomorrow.
