CBI team grills Jagan in DA case

HYDERABAD, June 3:
A team of CBI officials here was grilling jailed YSR Congress party leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets (DA) case against him after the Andhra Pradesh High Court permitted the investigating agency to take him into five-day custody from today.
The questioning of Jagan was underway since two-and-half hours by a team led by CBI SP Venkatesh at the officer’s mess in the office of Director General of Prisons, adjoining Chanchalguda Central Jail, where the Kadapa MP was lodged since May 28.
Emerging out from the main door of high security Chanchalguda jail at 1040 hrs, Jagan, with his trademark smile, greeted mediapersons, including national media who assembled there in large numbers, with folded hands before the CBI officials led him into the waiting vehicle.The YSR Congress chief was clad in white shirt, clean shaven and looked fresh.
The CBI officials would grill him till 1700 hrs after him into custody everyday at 1030 hrs from the jail till June 7 as per the High Court orders.
During interrogation, the lawyers of Jagan were present as permitted by Justice B Chandra Kumar of Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Jagan is being questioned about the investments made into his companies by various firms, including some based abroad, sources said.(UNI)
