RAJOURI, May 4: A team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from Delhi today visited Rajouri district headquarters and also Nowshera sector in connection with Defence land rent scam.
Official sources said that a 7 -member team led by an officer of SSP rank from the Union capital, arrived here today and seized record pertaining to payments of rent to some farmers of Nowshera sector living closer to the LoC and the relevant Revenue record.
This is the second visit of the CBI team during past several months to Rajouri. The CBI team also visited the forward locations of Nowshera where beneficiaries drawing rent on fake Revenue documents reside.
These people in connivance with the State Revenue and a few Defence Accounts employees of the area have drawn huge rent from Defence Department during past two decades. Several arrests are likely in near future.
