JAMMU, Oct 10: The Chamber of Commerce & Industry president Arun Gupta today welcomed the decision of the Jammu Smart City Ltd to replace the old electric poles by installing new electric poles, which will streamline the electric supply and minimize the unnecessary electric faults.
Gupta also pointed out that there are a number of electric poles in old city as well as other areas including Canal Road, Gandhi Nagar etc which are not even used by the PDD or any other department and are creating unnecessary hurdles in the free flow of traffic and movement of pedestrians. Chamber requested that these electric poles which are not in use should be removed.
CCI president further said that the Dengue as well as Chicken Guniya cases are increasing day by day especially in Jammu district. There is urgent need to take some concrete steps to contain the Dengue/Chicken Guniya cases. He urged the Jammu Municipal Corporation to intensify the fogging system everywhere in Municipal areas to further control the spread of Dengue as well as Chicken Guniya.
